In 1997 Howard made the decision to move from the big city of Dallas to start work in his family’s private label food manufacturing business.

 

Howard has degrees in both Marketing and Economics from Austin College.

 

In 2007, Howard began to realize that there was large business potential in co-packing recipes for other business and to provide more cost effective means for small companies to get their product to market, and created The MicroKitchen.

After 4 years in the business The MicroKitchen was split/re-branded to Gourmet Recipe Experts (a co-packing facility) and Uniquely Gourmet (private label goods) as the result of a joint business venture with Matt Kubecka.

A veteran in the industry for 16 years.  Matt cut his teeth in packaging in 1999.  He began his relationship with Howard in 2003 selling him glass jars and 2 piece lids.  Matt quickly earned his stripes by navigating the difficulties of glass distribution and setting Howard on a course for success.  His expertise in glass and plastic was instrumental in many of the offerings we at GRE and Uniquely Gourmet have today.

 

Matt joined the Gourmet Recipe Experts team in 2011 and relocated his family form the Dallas area to East Texas.  Matt bought into GRE as an owner as well as a daily operator.  Matt and Howard immediately began focusing on governmental regulation and the future direction of GRE which ultimately led to Uniquely Gourmet.  Part of these steps included HACCP certification and third party audits among others.

 

Matt as well as Howard constantly remain focused on efficiency and cost savings for their customers and are able to provide a wide offering of products priced very aggressively.   Always anxious to meet our customers, Matt never meets a stranger and welcomes new customers like they are family.

 

 

Susan Montgomery

Manager of Accounting

 

Working side by side with her husband Howard Montgomery for the past 16 years, Susan has been a vital part of every department with in the organization from customer service, making products, loading and unloading trucks, transporting products, Research and Development of new products, label creation, order taking, shipping, managing shipping claims and then finally taking over accounting.

 

Susan’s work ethic, professionalism & upbeat personality are invaluable tools in making the office run smoothly & efficiently. These are the same qualities she brings into customer service.
